Director’s Note

Counting Down to Pikes Peak Writers Conference 2026!

I can hardly contain my excitement as we get closer to one of my favorite weekends of the year—Pikes Peak Writers Conference, happening April 17–19, 2026. As Director, I have the privilege of working behind the scenes to bring together writers, industry professionals, and storytellers from across the country. And let me tell you—this year’s lineup is nothing short of incredible.

Our Keynote Speakers

We’re thrilled to welcome four powerhouse voices to the PPWC stage:

  • Pippa Grant – USA Today bestselling author known for her laugh-out-loud rom-coms and unforgettable characters. Pippa brings energy, wit, and insight into what it takes to build a loyal readership while having fun along the way.
  • Mary Robinette Kowal – Hugo and Nebula Award–winning author of The Calculating Stars and The Glamourist Histories, as well as a voice actor and puppeteer. Mary Robinette’s perspective on craft, creativity, and perseverance will inspire writers of all genres.
  • Reavis Z. Wortham – Award-winning author of the Red River Mystery and Sonny Hawke Thriller series. Reavis brings humor, grit, and a wealth of storytelling wisdom that speaks to both emerging and seasoned writers.

Saddle Up and Write

This year’s theme—“Saddle Up and Write”—captures the spirit of bold storytelling that defines our community. Writing takes courage. It means climbing into the saddle, holding tight to your vision, and steering your story into unknown territory. At PPWC 2026, we’ll celebrate that bravery while equipping you with the tools and inspiration to keep riding forward.

Why This Conference Matters

The Pikes Peak Writers Conference has always been about more than workshops and panels. It’s about connection—sharing stories, learning from each other, and leaving recharged with fresh ideas. Whether you’re just starting your writing journey or polishing your tenth novel, you’ll find a community that’s ready to welcome you, challenge you, and cheer you on.

Save the Date

Mark your calendars now: April 17–19, 2026, in Colorado Springs. Registration opens soon, and you won’t want to miss the chance to be part of this unforgettable experience.

On behalf of the Pikes Peak Writers team, I can’t wait to see you there. Saddle up, bring your boldest ideas, and let’s write!
